Jrue Holiday: From UCLA Star to NBA Champion

Early Life and College Career

Jrue Randall Holiday was born on June 12, 1990 in Los Angeles, California. He attended Campbell Hall High School before playing for the UCLA Bruins in college. As a freshman, Holiday started all 32 games and averaged 8.5 points per game. In his sophomore season, he led the Bruins to the Final Four and was named a third-team All-American by the Associated Press.

NBA Career

Holiday was selected 17th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2009 NBA draft. He was traded to the New Orleans Hornets (now Pelicans) in 2013 and spent seven seasons with the team. In 2018, he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, where he helped lead the team to their first NBA championship in 50 years in 2021. In 2022, Holiday signed a four-year, $133 million contract with the Boston Celtics.
